Sunday, June 17, 2007 MY SALAD DAYS

Poh Cheng & Beaver! ________________________________ Photos do whet your appetite dont they (: 19 cutesy pootsy cadets; 3 CIs; 3 TOs; 1 OC ; NO TOURGUIDE! :D actually have laa but we shall make him invisible - *POOF* Wenjie's cranky comments made my stomach hurt really bad from laughing ^^ We saw quite a few unisex bathing rooms on the way; squabbled over whether Tiger Airways was S'pore or not (mind enlightening us?); and OH LALA we went into the air-conditioned Borneo Hotel thinking it was the stay for the night but nooo it's this little ulu Step In Lodge packed into the back of the street. The climb was positively torturous but fun at the same time, leading us up to Mt. Hut after the 6km mark on Day Two. To get into the Gunting Lagadan Hut, you have to get on all fours and crawl up the stone slabs to reach a wooden staircase! and there is no heater! It was around 10deg celsius @ Mt. Hut. LaiLai and and few other people had the runs and were in the Tandas most of the time D: 14.06.07 1.30am Mr. Oh walked into our crammed 8people bunk and woke us up. Miss Wooytz claims that she wanted to wake me up in the night to go tandas with her; yours truly sat up in bed; gave a groggy smile and flopped back to sleep midst the spiders! I must have been dreaming P: And we started climbing. Staircases, staircases, torchlights. Rocks, water, pebbles, water. Rock steps and more rock steps. Thinning oxygen. Rope up a nearly vertical plane. Rock slabs, endlessly going on rock slabs.. At the 8.5km mark, the four of us & Mr. Chua & Sir Eric decided we just couldnt climb anymore 'cos we stopped every time the wind came. We dramatically sank to our knees and saw Pearwen & Sharman struggling against the wind. Pearwen was lamenting for the tandas (there are none at the peak) and Sharman came to cuddle with us. And so we sat there in a bundle of legs and watched the sunrise. We were so high up, when the sun rose we could see practically the whole of Sabah below the swirling white clouds. Took a few snapshots and made our way down. Beaver's Mizuno sports shoes gave her a 90% slip rate and twice we went zooming down the staircases xD It took about two hours to descend to Mt. Hut and I dragged Ms Chiou around soliciting people for breakfast cos my tum was grumbling roarr by 9am. We reached Timpohon Gate (the starting point) by evening and one line by Miss Vijay that I found really amusing: I dont want lunch, I dont want dinner; just ROLL ME DOWN! 15.06.07 6.00am *japanese alarm song plays* Wooytz: JN, switch off... *falls back into bed* LaiLai: Wakes up Charmaine: No reaction JN: Exit alarm *zzz* 15.06.07 6.45am *very loud knocks on the door* Charmaine: Wlau... *goes back to sleep* OQH: How come 6am so bright alr..? Maybe malaysia's sunrise's earlier.. *goes back to sleep* Wooytz: WAKE UP LATE LIAOOO! 15.06.07 6.50am oyyy lemme use the basin la! nearly all 19 of us overslept =x and all were squashed infront of the only four basins. ________________________________ and it was back to Changi Airport~ Sianzz I want another trip! :D my butt effing still hurts but YAYNESS it was one of the best scenes depicting 人间有情! After all the lucky people with mommys and daddys to fetch them went home; Clarine, Ms Chiou, Wooytz, ANTY & I went to Terminal 1 to look for food and talked quite a few hours about lesbian tendencies. Apparently, since they all had some form of a lovely warm hug (ESP.
